Palmlings privacy

Palmlings is a hand tracked magic game for Meta Quest. This page says what the game does with data. It is short because the game keeps almost nothing.

The short version

Play stats start switched off. If you never switch them on, the game sends nothing, anywhere. If you switch them on, the game may send one small set of totals, once per install. The totals hold no name, no account, no id and no time of day. Nobody can tell who they came from.

What data the game processes

On your headset, the game saves your settings and your level progress in the app's own storage. It does not leave the headset. Hand tracking, the room scan and passthrough are used while you play, on the headset only. The game does not record, save or send pictures, sounds, hand poses, head poses or room data.

If you switch Play stats on, the game counts the events in the table below. Each one is only a total, for example how many levels were started. When it sends, it sends these totals and nothing else. There is no player id, device id, account, name, email, location, time of day or time stamp in the report. Play stats are meant for players aged 16 and over, so please leave them off if you are younger.

How the data is used

The totals show whether the game starts quickly, runs smoothly and whether people reach the tricks, so we can fix problems and improve the game. They are not used for advertising, profiling or tracking. They are not sold or shared. The game has no ads and no purchases.

How the server works

The totals go to a small server on Cloudflare. The server adds each report to one set of overall totals and throws the report away. It does not store a record for each install. It does not read or keep your address, device details or any header of the request. The server accepts a limited number of reports a day, and extra ones are turned down. As with any internet request, Cloudflare handles the connection so that it can arrive, under its own privacy policy.

Your choices and deleting data

Settings, Play stats: switch it off at any time. Switched off, nothing is counted or sent. Your settings and progress live only on your headset: uninstalling the game removes them.

The totals on the server hold no id, so a single player's part of them cannot be found or taken out. For that reason there is nothing personal to delete there. If you have a question about this page, see the contact section.
